Special Anniversary Route for the 70th Anniversary Edition of the Cantharel International Four-Day March Apeldoorn.
On Saturday, July 12, 2025, following the 70th anniversary edition of the Cantharel International Four-Day March Apeldoorn, there will be an extra walking day. The walk will take participants through various highlights of Apeldoorn, including its parks, thereby preserving the event’s green character. The route will pass through the Grote Kerk and Theater Orpheus, which is also celebrating its 60th anniversary and is the only remaining starting location in the 70-year history of the Four-Day March Apeldoorn.
A unique feature of the eight-kilometer route is that participants can start from two locations: at Victoria Boys and near the lock on the Apeldoorn canal, an important location in the liberation of Apeldoorn. Participants will then walk the route in reverse. This special route celebrates three anniversaries: the 70th edition of the Four-Day March Apeldoorn, 80 years of freedom in Apeldoorn, and the 80th anniversary of Victoria Boys.
Participants can only register online in advance for this special anniversary route. Registration is possible until July 4, 2025. Due to transportation with buses, participation is limited, so first come, first served.
There are two starting points: Victoria Boys and Soap at the Zwitsal site. From these starting points, participants will be transported by veteran buses to the beginning of the route. From there, participants will walk the eight-kilometer route back to their original starting point. Along the way, there will be appropriate entertainment at various points so the whole family can enjoy this special anniversary walk.
